A short or long visit to Idstein is always worthwhile. It has a special flair with its pleasant pedestrian zone around the castle district and the half-timbered houses. And then a visit to the old fire brigade brewery to quench your thirst. One can fall in love with this small town.

Very worthwhile destination for a bike tour - a beautiful old town full of half-timbered houses, nice cafes and restaurants and a castle park for the break.

The sculpture made in 1996 from Wirbelau Lahn marble represents Johannes von Nepomuk and was created on the Lahn Bridge to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the expulsion in 1946 - also made from Lahn marble.

Although only the (restored) foundations remain, this Roman fort ruin is one of the best-preserved ancient structures of the Upper Germanic Limes. Furthermore, the former Roman fort has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005!
