Duderstadt is a town and independent municipality in the Göttingen district in southeastern Lower Saxony. The predominantly medieval townscape is characterized by around 600 town houses from various styles – mainly half-timbered houses – the two large town churches of St. Cyriacus and St. Servatius with their mighty towers, the Westerturm with its distinctive twisted spire, the restored city wall, and the town hall, one of the oldest in Germany.
