Today, the Silberbuck is covered in greenery and serves as a viewing hill, offering a good view of the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds. However, it represents an ecological legacy, as toxic substances from the landfill are seeping into the adjacent Silbersee, which is heavily contaminated.

The highest point in the city of Nuremberg is neither on the Kaiserburg (352 m above sea level) nor on the Schmausenbuck (390 m above sea level). Most Nuremberg residents answer these two places when asked about the highest elevation in their city. The Bavarian Surveying Authority has now clarified this question. The highest point in the city is in the Brunn district and is 408.4 m above sea level.

The tower is located on a hill and is open as an observation tower during the summer months.

The Schmausenbuck is an elevation right next to the Nuremberg Zoo, in the middle of the beautiful Reichswald. The vast amounts of rubble after the Second World War were planted and designed as a mountain with a view. With a height of about 40m, the "rubble mountain", as it was long known by the population, offers a beautiful view over the city, the dozen pond and the Imperial Castle.
