The town hall is a medieval, listed building that was built in 1474. Around 1,300 people are employed by the Kempten city administration.

At the center, under a protective canopy, is Saint Magnus of Füssen - Apostle of the Allgäu - and around him you can see an ibex, a doe, a stag and a unicorn. A young one sits enthroned on each of the animals. One of them has human feet, the other flippers, the next hooves and one bird's claws, which symbolizes the four elements.
