Hello! And welcome to the Julian Prealps Natural Park. To enjoy your experience to the fullest and with respect, we invite you to follow a few simple rules—they're our way of saying "thank you" to this extraordinary environment: - Bring home memories, not flowers: take all the photos you want, but leave plants, fossils, and any natural artifacts intact. - Dogs are welcome, but always on a leash: this way you protect the wildlife and themselves. - No wild camping: nature rests here at night, just like you! - Silence, the mountains speak: no loud music, shouting, or bright lights—let the sounds of the forest be your soundtrack. - Stay on the trail: walking off-trail damages delicate habitats. - Hunting is prohibited: animals live peacefully here, as they should everywhere. - Watch out for ticks: ticks are present throughout the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, so it's important to learn about prevention and protection techniques! Don't throw away your trash: everything you bring with you (snacks, bottles, tissues, etc.), take it home. The mountain is not a trash can. Nature thanks you! And if you need information, write to us at info@parcoprealpigiulie.it

One of the most popular places for trekking enthusiasts in Trieste. It offers numerous routes to reach the waterfall of over 40 m, the heart of the valley, of different lengths and difficulties, from the "Sentiero dell'Amicizia" to the more complex "Via delle Acque"

Outside the walls of Palmanova, and in particular Porta Udine, the Venetian Aqueduct stands mightily. It took its current form in 1771 and was used to carry water from the Roggia di Palma into the fortress, for civic use. It is possible to pass under the structure thanks to a pleasant dirt path.

Very suggestive waterfall with a dirt road. I recommend walking along it. It winds through pine forests and fortifications from the First World War.

This gate (monumentale) was built in 1604 and 1605. It even still has the two large wheels that were used to raise and lower the drawbridge.

The aqueduct was built when the city was founded and has been restored several times. Its current form dates from 1771. There is also a plaque from 1751 that shows a lion skin between two female figures

The water comes from the Roggia di Palma, the canal to Palma. This begins north of Udine at Zompitta and ends in Palmanova to feed the ditches via a waterfall. This canal is the oldest aqueduct in Friuli and dates back to at least the 12th century. On your walk around Palmanova you will pass this small waterfall: it is around 3 meters high and was restored a few years ago.

The visit to the cave is easily accessible, while the visit to the ravine involves the descent of 207 steps, often slippery due to the humidity which is not recommended when wearing clothing and especially MTB shoes

The Pradis Caves are a complex of karst cavities of various extensions and depths, positioned on several levels along a deep gorge dug over the millennia by the Cosa Torrent in the Upper Cretaceous limestone rock. Since those distant times these places have been in continuous evolution and transformation due to the effect of "karst", mainly due to the dissolution of the limestone rocks by rainwater but also to erosion phenomena. The Ravine of the Pradis Caves named after Don Giacomo Bianchini is an open book on geology and karst and allows you to appreciate the power of the waters of the Cosa stream. The Ravine, with its waterfalls, natural arches, caves and cavities, is a karst environment unique for its beauty. Here the force of nature and water are shown with all their power and majesty, an open-air atlas of geology that has fascinated generations of visitors, from Prehistory to the present day. source: www.grottedipradis.it

Beautiful spot for photo shots. Reachable after a simple and short uphill walk from the road. You can circumnavigate the entire body of water by passing under the cave.
