The parish church in Ebensfeld is dedicated to the Annunciation. Its history dates back to the 13th century, although Romanesque and Gothic predecessors repeatedly fell victim to destruction. The current Baroque hall church was built around 1700, but proved too small by the end of the 19th century. Between 1911 and 1912, the nave was extended to the west and a new chancel was added, giving the church its current, unusual form. Inside, the 18th-century Baroque furnishings are completely preserved, and the ceiling paintings in the light green coffered vault date from the 1940s. The large fresco of the Assumption of Mary is particularly noteworthy.

It's beautiful to see how the Itz River meanders alongside the cycle path for a long stretch.

Great bike path between Ebensfeld and Unterleiterbach on the former B 173. The entrance via the roundabout near Ebensfeld isn't ideal in my opinion. That's why I always drive through the roundabout with cars and only then onto the bike path. The bike path is better in the other direction. Further west, there's a nice right/left chicane to keep you from falling asleep. 😊
