From the cycle path, you can see the old Saar barges. These were built between the two world wars. They were previously pulled by hand on the canals and rivers; they were said to be towed (hence the name towpaths), now rehabilitated as cycle paths.

Its significant role as a symbol of the industrial revolution and structural change makes it an important cultural and historical heritage in Europe.
