Great gravel route between Dattelner Meer and Olfen. However, due to the coarse surface, it is not suitable for pure racing bikes.

Pure idyll, beautiful bike path, a bit bumpy, so not suitable for racing bikes. In between, the canal crosses over the Lippe. Very interesting.

The castle itself is unfortunately closed because it is privately owned. It's still worth taking a look at the outside. The water channels created are impressive.

There seems to be some confusion here. So the old canal flowed above, on the bridge. Below is the Stever. So it flowed under the canal back then. And the whole thing is in Olfen 😁

In the "city of moated castles" Lüdinghausen, it is considered to be the oldest: Lüdinghausen Castle. Surrounded by a beautiful park, which used to form the fortification system of the castle, it is located in the heart of the city, right next to the town hall, and is now referred to as the "castle of the citizens", especially by the people of Lüdinghausen.

In Lüdinghausen man changed the course of the Stever and divided it into three arms. The Vischeringsche Stever flows around Vischering Castle, the Mühlenstever once kept the Borgsmühle going and the Ostenstever was supposed to divert rainwater around Lüdinghausen. At this point, the old Stever, the confluence of the Vischeringschen and the Mühlenstever, meets the Ostenstever again. There is also a station on the SteverLandRoute here, which is dedicated to the importance of the intact shoreline. The SteverlandRoute is the family bike path in Münsterland. 14 hands-on stations invite young and old to discover nature on the Stever together. Children can use the explorer card to collect Stever coins and answer riddles at each station and thus become Stever experts. In particularly beautiful places - like here - picnic tables and meadow sofas invite you to take a cozy break. Take a look at our collection. :)

The three-arch bridge once led the Dortmund Ems canal over the little Stever. It's hard to imagine that the canal ships once sailed high above the River Stever! The three-arch bridge is on the SteverLandRoute, the family cycle path in the Münsterland: here, information boards for adults and information boards especially for children (!) provide information about the great project. There are a total of 14 hands-on stations along the SteverLandRoute.
