Desenzano del Garda is a worthwhile destination on a tour. Quiet, beautiful town with a great promenade and some other sights.

Due to its favorable location, Desenzano del Garda was already a nationally important port in Roman times. The city became prosperous from the 15th century under Venetian rule, primarily through the grain trade. Porto Vecchio, the old port, flanked by magnificent Venetian-style palazzi, is still a reminder of this past.
