What I would call a magical place.

An authentic and unmissable refuge where we stopped during our mountain bike crossing of the Assietta with my friend. Two incredible days filled with the beauty of the surroundings and exceptional autumn light. One night at 2500m altitude at the Casa Assietta refuge, where we were welcomed like royalty by Roberto! A good night's sleep under the covers after the host had prepared an excellent dinner for us! Thank you, Roberto!

One of the refuges where I've eaten the best, the food is truly excellent. If you're passing through, I highly recommend stopping for a bite to eat. It's in a great location beneath Monte Rosa; you can see the Margherita hut through a telescope, and they also have tent sites for sleeping.

To eat at the refuge, it's best to book to be sure of a first course of polenta ;-)

Hidden among the slopes of Mottarone, at 1,204 meters, the Rifugio Alpe Nuovo offers a welcoming space with 12 beds. The structure, the result of the passion of members and volunteers, is also equipped with a kitchen and dining room. The bar service is limited, but you can consume your own food.

The Willy Jervis refuge is located in the suggestive Conca del Pra, at 1,732 meters above sea level. The refuge is dedicated to all the partisans of the V Division "Giustizia e Libertà" who fell during the Liberation, in particular to Willy Jervis, a CAI academic, partisan, who in 1944 was shot by the Nazi-fascists in Villar Pellice. The refuge has 10 small rooms with 1 to 4 beds and 4 dormitories with 8 to 17 beds. It offers a bar and restaurant service all year round. It is an enchanting place both in summer and winter.
