An inconspicuous wooden bridge leading away from the canal towards Berkenthin

Beautiful church directly above the Elbe-Lübeck Canal... you can't miss it if you cross the canal on the bridge right in front of it.

A lovely rest area with several seating areas not far from the lock... Thanks to the large fish sculpture, you can't miss it.

Unfortunately, I found the large church closed (on weekdays). However, there's a lovely bench in front of the church, and the old gravestones and crosses around the church are worth exploring.

The Elbe-Lübeck Canal dominates the landscape around Kühsen. Since 1900, it has connected the Elbe and Trave rivers, flowing peacefully through fields and meadows. Today, it is primarily used by pleasure boats. A well-developed hiking trail runs directly along the shore, ideal for longer walks—whether toward Lauenburg or Lübeck. The tranquil setting and waterfront views make the canal a popular spot for excursions and outdoor breaks.

A Turkish snack bar that also offers pizzas and, above all, schnitzels on the menu. These are homemade, freshly breaded, and absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are equally huge. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas, which are located on the busy street. A stop is definitely worth it.
