The Dreifürstenstein (Three Princes' Stone) is a historic boundary stone in the Northern Black Forest, near the Alexanderschanze. It formerly marked the meeting point of the borders of three territories: the Duchy of Württemberg, the Margraviate of Baden, and the Prince-Bishopric of Strasbourg. Dating from the 18th century, the stone is an important testament to the territorial history of the Black Forest. Today, it is a cultural monument and a popular destination for hikers and history enthusiasts.

It could be so beautiful: good road surface, peaceful nature, a pleasant, consistent incline. Access for motor vehicles is actually only permitted with a "special permit"—but there seem to be a lot of them (it is, after all, a convenient shortcut). Even with just a handful of vehicles, it gets a bit annoying, because the road often only accommodates one modern car (not to mention the trucks that use it during the logging season), and places to pull over are scarce. This means: pull onto the verge and let them pass (if you haven't already been overtaken with only 5 cm of clearance), which, of course, disrupts the flow of traffic. A radar like the Varia is helpful; otherwise, you're constantly looking behind you, paranoid. The official speed limit here is 30 km/h (realistically more of a "recommendation"), but the cars approach much faster. Going downhill, due to the aforementioned road width, it would be quite narrow when there's oncoming traffic, and the cars would block each other. I like the route and will probably continue to drive it from time to time depending on my mood, but unfortunately I can't wholeheartedly recommend it.

Above Raumünzach, the Murg Valley Cycle Path leads between beautiful rocks, which give this section of the route a special charm.

The fountain temple at Schwarzwald Sprudel is a drinking fountain in the center of Bad Peterstal-Griesbach where you can fill up on fresh mineral water free of charge. The fountain serves as a meeting point for hikers and cyclists who want to refresh themselves and refill their water bottles. It is located directly in front of Schwarzwald-Sprudel's headquarters and is the starting point of the Panoramawegle, a four-kilometer premium walking trail that explains how rainwater is transformed into mineral water.

A good way to refresh yourself during the climb. It's also a good place to stop on the descent, as there's a small parking lot on the opposite side. The next fountain is a little further down – at Rotmurg.

For a short stretch, from the Alexanderschanze to the Zuflucht intersection, a relatively wide asphalt path runs here, which can also be used by bike. Caution: The path from the Alexanderschanze to the first parking lot is a pedestrian path only. Only after that, on the left, is the designated cycle path, which only suddenly becomes a mandatory pedestrian and cycle path at the level of the last parking lot. If you follow the law, you'll feel a bit fooled because the cycle path leads to the L92. However, if you want to get to the B500, you have to laboriously get back into the lane from the intersection, which can take some time depending on the traffic situation. Whoever thought that up again... Otherwise, the surface is okay after the bumpy start in the middle section. It's a shame that it's only such a short stretch. This means that cycling infrastructure is lacking in places that are even more critical.
