The cable suspension bridge over the Argen river spans the Argen between Kressbronn, district of Gohren, and Langenargen. It was built under the Württemberg King Wilhelm II between 1896 and 1897. It was the first suspension bridge in Germany with wire cables. Today it is no longer used for vehicle traffic, only for bicycles and pedestrians. A great photo opportunity in all seasons.

For me, Meersburg is one of the most beautiful places on Lake Constance. Nice restaurants in the lower town. A bit uphill it goes to the upper town. Nice restaurants and shops.

It is always interesting to watch the hustle and bustle in a port. Here in Lindau, with its distinctive harbor entrance, there is also a lively ferry service. I brought a postcard with me from a school trip to Lake Constance in 1965. It said: "Lindau is on Lake Constance, if you don't believe it, come and see for yourself".

Baden's first wine cooperative was founded in Hagnau. The place was once a pure fishing and winegrowing village. The torkel from 1747 is evidence of the long winemaking tradition.

The urban area covers an area of 3,300 ha. Of this, 68 hectares are in the historic old town, an island in Lake Constance. The city has around 25,000 inhabitants.

Very nice bike paths mostly along the lake from Friedrichshafen-Meersburg-Bodman. Cities are very beautiful with a promenade on the lake. Many places to stop for a break.
