Apparently in 2025 it has reopened. Open Thursday to Tuesday 10:00 til 16:30, with warm food until 16:00. Closed on Wednesdays. (In November 2024 it was being completely rebuilt so was closed.)

The promising Watzmannhaus serves as a base for climbing the Watzmann. The hut is open from May to October. There are 200 beds in the dormitory and shared rooms. Be sure to reserve your place to sleep in advance. You can find more information at: https://www.alpenverein-muenchen-oberland.de/huetten/alpenvereinshuetten/watzmannhaus.
