In Humlebæk, overlooking the straits to Sweden, Danish artist Per Arnoldi created the sculpture "October 1943", a rowing boat made of black granite. It stands on Peder Mads Strand south of Slettenhus. During the occupation, Slettenhus housed Hotel Gylfe, a meeting place for Danish resistance fighters and a hiding place for Danish Jews before they sailed from Sletten Havn to Sweden.
