This is an ideal hiking trail between Ettlingen and Herrenalb. The Alb River accompanies you on your left. Pure scenic enjoyment. Due to its proximity to the Alb Valley Railway line, shorter sections of the trail are also easily accessible. For refreshments, the Kochmühle in Neurod and the König von Preußen restaurant in Frauenalb are recommended. Both also offer access to the Alb Valley Railway.

The spa park in the heart of the city is characterized by its historic trees and spacious green spaces, making it a place to recharge your batteries. Its design offers two atmospheres: a "classic" one with cultivated park meadows, and a "wildly romantic" one with blooming riverside and forest meadows. The two sections are connected by bridges over the renaturalized Alb River.

Equipped with new windows at the top, it offers a 360-degree view. Panoramic images are displayed below the windows to show what you can see when the weather is good. The tower is open from April to October from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and admission is free.

Now in midsummer, the stream has completely dried up. Nevertheless, the small bridge over the Mannenbach is beautiful to look at and a highlight of the trail.

A border house was erected here on the former border between the Grand Duchy of Baden and the Kingdom of Württemberg. It features a hand crank; when you turn it, you hear stories from the Baden or Württemberg perspective. There are also two benches in front, which we gladly used for a drink break.

A beautiful, large spa park through which the Alb River flows. The Alb is accessible at many points, which is very popular in the summer. Numerous benches and weatherproof hammocks invite visitors to linger. Thanks to the numerous trees, it's usually possible to find a shady spot.

The entrance to the Protestant monastery church is reached through the ruins of the former late Romanesque vestibule, built around 1200. The porch, known as Paradise, was raised in the late Gothic period in 1462. Paradise served as a meeting place for lay brothers (conversi) and as a burial place for the local nobility.
