🚴♀️ The Smidsberg climb is a charming but underrated stretch of road in the South Limburg region, near Epen in the Netherlands. Perfect for cyclists looking for a peaceful connection between Epen and Belgium. Here are the key facts: Length: approx. 1.4–1.5 km Elevation gain: approximately 52–57 m Average gradient: around 3.4–4.1% Maximum gradient: up to 8.4% Route: Via Terzieterweg, Kuttingerweg, and 't Veld2 Characteristics: The climb starts briskly at the campsite, then flattens out and offers beautiful views of fields and forests. 🌳 Scenically, the Smidsberg is a little gem – no switchbacks, but a varied route with short steep sections and a peaceful atmosphere. Ideal as part of a tour to Beusdael Castle or further towards Teuven.
