Look ahead on the path, they were too quick for me to catch on Camera, but pretty sure they were baby Otters.

A great high spot above the Bradfield villages with views across the valley to take in the reservoirs and more!

After years of hard work by the council, the River Don is nice to look at and there's even Otters now

Lovely flowing single track, also used by dog walkers/horse riders so watch out on the corners. it was very swampy when i went Jan 2021

Hidden behind the Church of St Nicholas. Legend has it this place is haunted. You can't really tell from the photo but the Motte is fairly steep and is easier to get up than down!

This is not far from the Church of St Nicholas and the Old Horns and is a bit of a hidden gem. The remains of the motte can be climbed (and should be) to appreciate just how hard it would be to storm one of these defensive structures. On top of the motte would have been a wooden keep which has long since gone. This and the church indicate the importance of this area around 900 years ago.

I love this church. It's a great spot to soak up the views of Bradfield Vale and beyond. Not far behind the church are the remains of a 900-year-old Bailey (with motte) that you can scramble up. Be warned, it's a bit of a slide on the way down but worth it to get some scale of the Norman defences.
