Wissem Castle is the landmark of Troisdorf and dates back to the Merovingian period (500-700 AD). It was a moated castle and fortification, the ancestral seat of the Lords of Troisdorf. The first written record of it dates from 1474. The complex comprises elements from three different eras and is surrounded by a spacious castle park that merges into the Wahner Heide heathland. With its sensory experience area, the deer park's enclosures featuring red deer and sika deer, and other recreational activities, the castle park is a popular destination. Since the 1980s, the castle has housed the internationally renowned Picture Book Museum. The coach house (built around 1550) is the headquarters of the Heinz Müller Foundation. As part of the Regionale 2010, the former administration building at Burgallee 3 was converted and now houses the tourist information office, the Museum of Urban and Industrial History (MUSIT), the Wahner Heide Portal, the wedding room, the creative workshop and the restaurant “Quattro Passi”, creating a unique cultural center.

The Sülztalbahn was a historic railway line in the Bergisches Land region, running along the Sülz valley and representing an important connection for passenger and freight traffic, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries. It connected towns and villages around the Sülz valley, including Bergisch Gladbach, Rösrath, and Overath, to the wider rail network.
