The Sülz arises from the confluence of Lindlarer and Kürtener Sülz in Hommerich. After the confluence of the two source rivers, the Sülz flows through the areas of Brombach, Immekeppel and Oberauel and Untereschbach. Tributaries of the Sülz are among others the Eschbach, Holzbach, Lehmbacher Bach, and Volbach. At Lohmar the Sülz flows into the Agger.

"The Sülztal is named after the Sülz with its two source rivers, the Kürtener Sülz and the Lindlarer Sülz. If you calculate its length from the source of the Lindlarer Sülz, the Sülz covers 49km before it flows into the Agger near Lohmar. This makes the Sülz the most important tributary of the Agger, which in turn drains into the Rhine via the Sieg."
