The water level is high in this weather. But it's still relaxing.

Reißinsel is a designated nature reserve and is closed every year from March through June to allow the birds living there to raise their young undisturbed. The northern part of Reißinsel is protected as a "bannwald" (protected forest). This area is not used for forestry purposes in any way. To the south lies a "Schonwald" (conserved forest), where forestry management is specifically geared towards protecting the forest. Slightly slippery when wet.

The bridge is a lovely place to linger. Many beautiful water birds can be seen. You can even see the waves of the Rhine.

The restaurant is called Estragon.

Very nice cycle path through the forest park.

A beautiful destination for a short walk in the wild, extendable to a longer walk along the Rhine
