Formerly, when Berga was the seat of an archpriest, there was a main church where the clergy of the Berga district gathered for the synod. The district consisted of two districts: Berga above and Berga below. This fact also explains the magnificent building and its location. Of cultural and historical note are the 14th-century relief of the Man of Sorrows, several tombs, and the choir windows. This church was built in 1898 on the site of a previous church, built between 1709 and 1711. This site was once a prehistoric place of worship and court.
