This holiday camp, established during the GDR era, is unique in Thuringia. The KiEZ Feuerkuppe Children's and Youth Recreation Center is a recognized youth education center. The grounds extend over 22 hectares. It offers a wide range of sports and leisure activities and fifty youth-friendly accommodations with 636 beds. Almost all of the houses are equipped to modern standards or are currently being renovated.

Straußberg Castle, a 13th-century fortification that has received little attention to date, certainly has a lot to offer, even if spectacular events or significant figures have unfortunately not yet been discovered. Research is still in its infancy. Its location, secluded in the wooded mountains of the Hainleite, also prevents it from becoming a dominant focal point.
