Lots of 'rock gardens' making this challenging. The descent is extremely tough. Got off the bike a few times. With no body protection equipment, it is not worth the risk.

Natty Bridge is a fantastic MTB descent, ride north to south. Rocky and narrow in places, off-camber and fast flowing following the River Lickle down the valley.

Rough all times of year. Don't expect an easy run down to the bottom, especially in the wet.

Hold on tight & pick the right lines & this will be one of the best descents you’ll have ridden

Hodge Close Quarry is one of many slate workings in the Tiberthwaite Valley. It's a beautiful natural moment characterised by giant boulders and dense forest. On the other side of the quarry is a great singletrack.

The Wasdale Head Inn is one of THE iconic Inns of the Lake District. In the early days of British climbing, it was the meeting and gathering point before so many famous ascents. The Photographs in the dining room lay testament to its long association with climbing and adventure in Wasdale, the Lake District and further afield. A stay in the hotel or at least a meal and a drink in the bar are almost mandatory for seasoned walkers and climbers. You can feel the history here. There are excellent facilities here (except NO mobile signal) and the hotel even has their own small campsite opposite.

This bridge over Hardknott Ghyll, is also known as Jubilee Bridge, and is at the start of the path that leads up towards Harter Fell from the parking area at the bottom of Hard Knott Pass. The Ghyll would be difficult to cross much of the year without this bridge.

Great pub to visit after a long walk around wasdale head, serves food also with a shop adjacent to the pub, another of those lake district pubs kept away from the big name chains… but for how long

Not a great path up or down but awesome views and feels quite wild coming over from Wastwater.

Great decent on rough gravel

Yewdale Crag is a very steep slope on the right side as you ride through, the angle of eyesight to see the top of the Crag is looking up considerably. It seemed to go slightly dark as I passed through, but that is the crag blocking the light out. Fun surface to ride on though

The surface here is in between easy and rough. It is not difficult to ride over, plenty puddles are there on rainy days
