Skelwith Force is one of the smaller waterfalls in the Lake District but is still impressive. You can walk up a boardwalk to a viewpoint on large rocks.

The bridge is situated on a footpath and cycle path linking Elterwater to Skelwith Bridge, near Ambleside in Cumbria. The bridge spans the River Brathay, a short distance upstream from the Skelwith Force waterfall. The bridge was designed and built by specialist metalwork company Chris Brammall Ltd, who have also created some very fine bridge railings in Staveley and Sunderland. (The happy pontist)

Some steep climbs and fast downhills. A lot on road and where not surface is hard and smooth

Great Coffee, Vegetarian sandwiches and pasties, lovely cakes

Excellent cafe half way down the west side of the lake. Tremendous selection of coffees, sandwiches, soup, drinks and more. Well worth a stop.

Great vege cafe Joey's

Joey's Cafe at Claife Viewing Station is one of their four eateries in the Lake District. This one is located in a beautiful stone cottage at Claife, which offers fabulous views over Lake Windermere. Joey's cafes are eco-based and plant-focused with plenty of delicious vegan treats and great coffee.

You have gorgeous views out towards Lily Tarn and Todd Crag from here.

The gated area is the entrance to Claife Forest. The terrain becomes more rugged and rougher as you start to ride through Claife Forest. You are climbing but it is manageable

The photo is the entrance to Wray Castle, I did not go in for a look, just rode past the entrance. It does not look a big site, but it does look tidy

Once over this bridge there were no walkers for a short while. The bridge is a nice structure, made from the safe way loads of houses are made by what seems to be a type of dry stone wall

This location has both double and single gravel pathways, they are quick sections on bikes to ride through. There are quite a lot of walkers about, even in mid February.

There is an elevated gravel pathway around Rydal Water. One the left side it was possible to see people climbing the steep, rugged fell. Loads of walkers were using this pathway. It is best to have a bell on your bike to get around the walkers
