Newport enjoys a scenic setting on the shores of Clew Bay. Its pretty harbour and Main Street are a delight to explore. There are a good number of places to stay and it's worth checking out the award-winning Gráinne Uaile pub. The town is connected to Westport and Achill by the Great Western Greenway.

Crossmolina is a pretty quiet town and comes equipped with a popular bakery and pub making it a perfect spot for a pitstop.

Fantastic panoramic views out to Clew Bay and beyond to the Atlantic ocean.

A ride up to Barnageehy or 'Windy' Gap will reward you with fantastic views of Mount Nephin. There is a viewpoint where you can take some time off the road to fully appreciate your surroundings.

Newport is a stunning heritage town right on the Great Western Greenway, and beautifully positioned on the shores of Clew Bay. As well as its beautiful main street shops and eateries for a refuel, the town boasts a magnificent 19th century red sandstone viaduct.

This remote road winds its way through the wilderness of Wild Nephin National Park giving a real feeling of remoteness and peace.

The track running along Levally Lough has fantastic views of the Lough and Nephin mountain behind it which is the highest stand alone peak in Ireland (806 metres).

Take a break after this long climb and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding hills and countryside.
