Cloghbrack Far is one of the lesser taken paths up Nephin, but it's well worth your time. It's a consistently steep ascent, so perfect for experienced hikers looking to challenge themselves. The views are worth the climb though.

The southern side of Nephin is perhaps less popular than the northern trail, but it's worth seeking out. A steep but relatively consistent gradient makes this a tough but easy to navigate climb.

The climb up to Nephin is well worth the effort, whichever path you take. Enjoy the panoramic view from Ireland's highest standalone mountain.

This peak is at 551 m (1,808 ft). The views are unbelievable as everywhere in the Nephin mountains! Rough mountains, but those that command respect are the best!

This top, also known as Birreencoragh Beg, is at 564 meters (1,850 feet). The place is windswept, unpermitting, cold and totally awesome!

Newport enjoys a scenic setting on the shores of Clew Bay. Its pretty harbour and Main Street are a delight to explore. There are a good number of places to stay and it's worth checking out the award-winning Gráinne Uaile pub. The town is connected to Westport and Achill by the Great Western Greenway.
