The Reuterwanne is a 1,539-meter-high mountain near Wertach, on the border with Jungholz. Its isolated location and easy ascent make it an excellent vantage point. Due to its proximity to the Obere Reuterwanne Alp, it's not uncommon to see cows grazing on the adjacent mountain pasture, which extends all the way to the summit, in summer.

The reservoir was completed in 1962 and serves as flood protection and power generation. The Grüntensee and some areas of its shore are also used as recreational areas. The Grüntensee climbing forest (a high ropes course) is located on the northern shore of the Grüntensee. The path from the Obere Reuterwanne Alp up to the summit runs across the alp's treeless mountain pasture. This guarantees a magnificent view to the southwest. And encounters with the pasture's users, namely the cows, are inevitable.

Directly below the summit, a beautiful steep path on the north ridge of the Reuterwanne.
