The Catholic branch and pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard inevitably catches your eye on the way from Schliersee to Neuhaus, as it stands alone and prominently on Neuhauser Straße. There is no precise information about the architect of the chapel. It is believed that St. Leonhard was built between 1646 and 1657 by Jörg and Hans Zwerger, two Schliersee residents. It has an elongated octagonal shape and rounded corners. Semicircular apses were built on the sides and the vestibule of the baroque church is rectangular. The tower with the pointed roof is located on the south side directly above a late Gothic basement. This was built between 1666 and 1668. The Leonhardifahrt from Schliersee to Fischhausen on the first Sunday in November is a procession at the end of which the horses and their riders are blessed. https://www.schliersee.de/sommer/kultur-lebensart/kirchen/
