Crossing Bramfeld Lake at this point is now possible again via the new bridge. The new bridge is located near the site of the old bridge, which was demolished in 2015. It is now possible once more to take a short walk around Bramfeld Lake and experience the lake from a different perspective.

It also looks great in the evening, as it's illuminated.

The redevelopment of the fire station was deliberately designed as a transition between classic perimeter block development and open water architecture. Two residential buildings and a senior care home form an ensemble that blends harmoniously into the surroundings. The red brick facade reflects Hanseatic building traditions and creates a uniform appearance – robust, timeless, and identity-forming. The open space design is particularly successful: Wide staircases lead from the elevated level of the buildings directly to the Osterbek Canal. This not only visually opens up the waterfront promenade, but also provides functional access – for pedestrians, cyclists, and residents. The landscape axis along the canal has been completed and invites you to stroll, linger, and explore. The name "Löschplatz" (Fireplace) recalls the industrial past of the area, which was once part of the Route of Industrial Heritage. Today, little of this remains – but the new use carries on the history by not erasing the site, but reinterpreting it.
