Nice quiet lane.

The nature reserve has a large reed bed area, wild flower meadows, wet woodlands, a lake and islands. It supports a large population of grass snakes. So keep your eyes peeled for snakes basking in the warmer weather.

The church dates from the 13th century, with additions in the 14th, 15th and 17th centuries. The porch was added in 1792, and the church was repaired in 1844. The tower and vestry were added in 1874. The church contains carved bench ends dating from the 14th century which were originally in Dale Abbey.

A large pond, which forms part of the Radbourne Estate.

The Manor of Radbourne has been held by the Chandos family since the Norman Conquest. Radbourne Hall was built between 1739 and 1745 and is located within the park. Radbourne Park is a 600-acre parkland surrounding Radbourne Hall, an 18th-century country house, and was originally landscaped in 1790 by William Emes. The park was designed by William Emes, a distinguished Derbyshire landscaper, in 1790. A ten-year restoration plan began in 2003 to restore the park to its original 1790 design.

Does get boggy during rainy season

This is the eastern access point to Elvaston Castle. It is a 19th-century Gothic Revical Castle set within a 200 acre county park that offers walking paths and lovely scenery.

Work is now in hand to restore the Church which will be completed in 2026.

Near the end/beginning of the trail, depending on which way you go-this is opposite a large and lovely green space-great for a picnic!

The Nature Reserve is prone to flooding and the paths can be very muddy during the winter or after lots of rain

The footpath to the South West of the lower pond is closed from mid-March to the end of June for the nesting season.

Very pretty Lake behind the Castle with direct access from the large Car Park. There's a good footpath all the way around it

These gates are chained & padlocked shut, however if you are inside trying to get out, then we found that the low wall to the side was easy to clamber over

This is a dementia friendly garden, created by and for people living with dementia, their families and carers.

The church dates from the 14th century. It was restored and reopened by the Bishop of Lichfield on Thursday 13 November 1851. Reredos were designed by James K Colling of London and added in 1878. On the evening of 3 December 2020, a large fire destroyed the interior of the church, including the pipe organ. The cause of the fire was found to be arson. The suspect also burned down St Mary's Catholic School in Darley Abbey and Ravensdale School in Mickleover. There are plans to restore the church using insurance money. The site is closed as work is currently being undertaken on the rebuild.

Darley Abbey in Derbyshire was an Augustinian monastery just north of Derby. Around it formed the village now bearing its name Darley Abbey village. There are only two remaining buildings from the monastic period. One became the Abbey Pub (also known as the Abbey Inn), a Grade II* listed building. Constructed in the 15th century, it is thought to have been part of the Abbot's residence. The building appears to have been roofless for most of its post-dissolution life; a new roof was added in the 1920s and the building reinforced in the 1950s following some movement within the walls. The building was renovated to its present state in 1978.

The four-storey West Mill was built in 1821. The mill was constructed using advanced cast iron structural techniques.
