Beautiful place

The Untersee near Liblar is part of the Ville lake chain, a group of residual lakes that formed after early lignite mining on the Ville ridge. Unlike the heavily used bathing lakes in the surrounding area, the Untersee is a protected body of water that is not freely accessible. Older reclaimed forests, some of whose trees are now 30 to 70 years old, line its shores. The lake is ecologically significant primarily due to the presence of stoneworts, which are considered very sensitive.

One of my favorite places in the Ville is this beautiful view of the idyllically situated Donatussee.

Unfortunately, it was cloudy today, so the lake wasn't very photogenic. But it's still nice to linger here.

Lake Franziskus is an artificial body of water. Lake Franziskus is primarily fed by groundwater flowing in from the surrounding area.

Located directly on the shore, you have a beautiful view over the lake from here.

Lake Liblar is one of the largest and cleanest lakes in the region and offers you many opportunities for a break with a sandy beach, sunbathing lawn and a restaurant. It is popular and is surrounded by several official hiking trails, so remember that you will be sharing the path with pedestrians.
