Numerous insects (dragonflies, butterflies) and amphibians also find a suitable habitat here. Heck cattle graze on the pastureland to maintain the open landscape.

🌿 Nature and Biodiversity The sewage fields are an outstanding biotope and serve as an important resting and moulting area for migratory birds. The area offers a diverse range of habitats, including shallow water zones, wet grasslands, pastures, and one of the largest contiguous reed beds in North Rhine-Westphalia.
