An absolute highlight, even if it is a bit outside of San Diego in Encinitas.

A great viewpoint along this trail, giving you panoramic views of our local hills and mountains. The trail is good for hiking, bike riding and dogs are welcome on a leash.

Named after one of the bird species that thrives in the preserve, Tern Point provides a slightly further inland perspective over the lagoon.

Stop at this park area and take in some of the views along Escondido Creek.

The San Diego Botanical Garden is just outside in Encinitas. It costs 18 dollars to enter and can be hiked through. I found the bamboo garden absolutely impressive. A large interactive garden for children attracts many families. a good business idea and opportunity to show the children nature.
