Hermsdorf Castle and Park Information: In 1461, Otto von Carlowitz acquired the Hermsdorf manor, and between 1553 and 1575 he built Hermsdorf Castle on the estate. Now: Weddings, family or corporate celebrations, conferences, and seminars in a stylish setting. Castle park with an idyllic pond.

The approach to the Brettmühlenteich or the Zschornaer Teiche is a semi-romantic one through the forest, but the parallel motorway and the chicken farm spoil the idyll a little. At least the asphalt is good, apart from the few concrete slab sections, and there is little traffic.

Nice road between the towns, fine asphalt, traffic OK, it moves well here.

Things are looking good for the castle, both structurally and for the future,

From Ponickau it goes up to the terminal moraine in two stages and then down to Liega on the other side. A beautiful, shady route with good asphalt and little traffic.

Even when I'm just driving past, I always take a look at the dreamy lake and in spring I'm happy when the great reed warbler chirps so comically.
