The town hall is located somewhat away from the city center and in the immediate vicinity of the city museum.

As of November 2025, the building was boarded up. Hopefully, there's a plan for its renovation.

This fountain stands right in the middle of the market square. Of course, it's not running in winter.

The town hall, built in late classicist style in the style of the architect Christian Frederik Hansen, was built between 1826 and 1828.

Welcome to the SEGEBERG COMMUNITY CENTER website! Since the Bad Segeberg Adult Education Center took over the management of the museum in 2012, the former "local history museum" was gradually converted into the historical city museum over the next three years. For centuries, the community center served as a residence for Segeberg craftsmen. When it was finally scheduled to be demolished in the late 1950s due to extreme dilapidation, old ideas arose to renovate it and turn it into a museum. After extensive renovation work with massive interventions in the historic building structure (1963/64), the city of Bad Segeberg presented the salvaged Segeberg community center as a "local history museum" in the following decades. The Segeberg parish bailiff's building (still known today as the "Höhlenkrug") was built by the parish bailiff and parish bailiff Wichmann as a spacious residential and administrative building on the vacant double lot in what is now Segeberg's old town after a fire in the previous building in 1788/89. In the 19th century, it passed into the hands of Segeberg craftsmen and was remodeled and expanded several times until the "Höhlenkrug Bakery" located there finally closed its business in 2017. Since then, plans for conversion have been circulating; since the beginning of 2019, a support association has been planning to convert the historic building and its rear extensions into a Segeberg District and City Museum.
