There are numerous restoration projects underway in Thy National Park. Restoration measures include the restoration of heathland and dune areas and the re-establishment of native deciduous and mixed forests, creating habitats for the native flora and fauna often found in the dune plantations.

The hiking trails are reasonably passable. Due to forestry work, some sections of the forest look very devastated. Renaturation? Some parking spaces are unusable because of the large amount of wood piled up. A new hiking trail is planned for construction right next to the lake.

Not only is this forest currently unsightly in many places due to logging, but the colored trail markers on site also don't match those on the maps.
