The historic Pfau Brothers Cloth Factory is a technical monument of European significance and now serves as a museum. Using our historic textile machines, you can follow the production of woolen fabric step by step. You'll experience the atmosphere of a cloth factory and learn interesting facts about the working and living conditions of former employees. Our special exhibitions showcase the history of the regional textile industry, historical and contemporary fashion, and the works of interesting textile artists. The first factory buildings of the Pfau Brothers Cloth Factory were built in 1885. It remained family-owned until 1972, when it became part of the VEB Volltuchwerke Crimmitschau (Nationally Owned Enterprise). In 1990, the former Pfau Brothers Cloth Factory was declared a listed building in its entirety. In terms of its size and completeness, the Pfau factory is unique in Central Europe.
