CAUTION: Once you've reached the Almsee, taking the circular hiking trail to the end of the lake is very tempting. It starts off a bit wider, but then becomes very narrow. Especially on weekends, there are many hikers, including mothers with strollers and groups. Therefore, I would strongly recommend using it, at least on busy days, as it's not particularly fun. Using the main road for this remaining section is no problem anyway.

While the bike path from Grünau mostly follows the main road, there's a beautiful trail running through the forest on the left side of the road. Although narrow, the path is easy to navigate and a great alternative to the road. It only returns to the road at the turnoff to the Ödseen lakes.
