A bike trip to the government district of St. Pölten is definitely worthwhile. This modern district lies directly on the Traisen River and is easily accessible via the Traisental Cycle Path. Between the Landhaus (state government building), the Festspielhaus (festival hall), the Museum Niederösterreich (Museum of Lower Austria), and the striking Klangturm (sound tower), the largely car-free area can be comfortably explored by bicycle. Wide paths, plenty of greenery, and good cycle connections make the government district a pleasant stopover or starting point for further tours along the Traisen or towards the Danube.

The newly reopened "EWA's Bistro" is sensational – very friendly and attentive owners who cater to your every need and offer excellent cuisine! Ewa's cooking is sensational – I've never eaten a better Cordon Bleu (mountain farmer's cordon) – completely flexible kitchen hours – the lunch buffet starts at 11 am and the extensive menu is available all afternoon! – plus a lovely beer garden! – a must-visit!

Along the Fladnitz Valley Cycle Path (R8), a steel and concrete bridge with a wooden railing crosses the Fladnitz River. Directly at this point, the cycle path options branch off: the short route via Statzendorf, the longer, more challenging route via Karlstetten, and the short Kuffen Loop. All paths lead through the rolling hills and meadows of the Fladnitz Valley.

The rest area is located on the Fladnitz Valley Cycle Path, a few meters before a bridge over the Fladnitz River. A bench offers cyclists the opportunity to take a short break. From here, you have a good view of the Fladnitz Valley and the surrounding hills of Eastern Styria. Especially in the evenings, the spot offers a clear view of the sunset over the valley.
