This is THE highlight of the Danube View MTB trail! In good weather, you have a fantastic panoramic view over the vast landscape of Lower Austria.

The parish church of St. Veit an der Gölsen is located west of the market town of St. Veit an der Gölsen in the Lilienfeld district of Lower Austria. The Roman Catholic parish church, dedicated to St. Veit and incorporated into Göttweig Abbey, belongs to the deanery of Lilienfeld in the Diocese of St. Pölten.

sunny, very even ascent to the Hegerberg

The Elsbeere Singletrail is a moderately difficult mountain bike trail near Michelbach, Lower Austria. At just under 130 meters of elevation gain, you'll find tight curves, small banked sections, and, if you look closely, one or two neat features—like a jump over a tree stump—to spice up your descent. The ascent is via the asphalt road to the Elsbeere organic farm. The road is consistently steep, and with an organic bike, the climb is just long enough to warm up to the trailhead. Especially in the warm summer months, it's advantageous that most of the climb can be done in the shade of the trees. The first few meters of the trail lead across a field to the edge of the forest, where the actual trail begins. There are two alternatives in the lower section; the turnoff is easy to miss (it happened to me). All in all, a nice trail for a few laps. The Roman Catholic parish church of Böheimkirchen, dedicated to Saint James the Elder, rises on the Hochfeld above Böheimkirchen. Originally built as a fortified church, it is surrounded by a walled cemetery and, together with the rectory and elementary school, forms a distinctive ensemble. The parish was first documented around 1050 and was affiliated to the St. Pölten Abbey between 1399 and 1784. The church suffered damage during the Turkish invasions of 1529 and 1683. Between 1731 and 1734, the nave was remodeled in the Baroque style under Provost Johann Michael Führer. A comprehensive restoration took place between 1973 and 1981. Architecturally, the church combines various stylistic periods. The originally medieval nave was remodeled in the Baroque style in the 18th century. The late Gothic choir and lower church date from the early 16th century, while the striking west tower dates from the 14th century and has a wedge roof from 1898.

Along the route you can see the enormous damage caused by the flooding. Thank God the promenade is passable again. Nice tour!
