The trail from Solvorn is quite challenging, and despite the markings, the route isn't always entirely clear. But it's perfect for those who like a bit of scrambling 👍. Alternatively, you can take the old road from Solvorn. The climb is rewarded with a fantastic view of the Lustrafjord 😁

Rocky summit where there is some shelter should the weather come in. There are numerous paths off of the top so it can be quite confusing to the find the right route down.

From here you have a breathtaking view of the fjord and the influx of glacier water that mixes here.

The Molden stretches above the Lustrafjord, which together with the Gaupnefjord forms the innermost part of the huge Sognjefjord. The Molden is often referred to as the most beautiful vantage point in Luster. From the summit plateau you can enjoy the views from different perspectives, down to the turquoise Lustrafjord, to the peaks of Jotusheimen and Breheimen, down to Urnes, towards Solvorn and Gaupne.

We walked up to the top of the hill with just sun and 32 degrees. We had to stop several times because some parts of the trail are really steep and with a lot of small stones. You should be well trained to make it within 3 hours.

Hidden in the forest, not far from the main path, there is a small viewing point from which you have a beautiful view of the valley. Here you can take in the contrast between the green valleys and gray peaks of the surrounding mountains.

Close to the refuge and the radio masts you come very close to the steep slope to the fjord - and is rewarded with a magnificent view over the Lustra and Gaupnefjord!

2월 10, 2017, Molden 1,116 m Summit
The summit of Molden at 1,116 meters is marked by a small stone tower and a corresponding sign. The summit book in which you can sign is also hanging here. The best view here on Molden is not from the summit itself, which is on a flat plateau, but a little further on the edge of the plateau near the radio mast.

Just before the steepest part of the ascent, you can take a break at a shelter sheltered from the wind and catch the first glimpse of the fjord. Sheep also appreciate this place very much.
