Marshy but passable area. Well-signposted route and signs to learn about local flora and fauna

This suspension bridge spans the Russa, a turbulent river that pours the waters of the Russvatnet into the neighboring valleys. The bridge, recent and very well made, is passable all year round.

Russvatnet is one of the most imposing lakes in Jotunheimen National Park. Bordered by numerous hiking routes, it is also populated by a few wooden huts which serve as refuges for shepherds in the summer pastures.

From here you have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

Behind the 11th information board is a 300-year-old pine tree. Since pine trees are slow growing, it's not that big, but still very impressive. Pine trees older than 400 years have even been found in the area!

After about half the distance you can take a break here, go to the outhouse and sign the guest book. Don't forget to write your nationality as well!
