Tuckahoe State Park is an awesome place to explore outdoors. You can hike and bike along the 20 miles (32 km) of trails that lead through wooded marshlands and around a lake. There are also picnic areas, a visitor centre, playgrounds, restrooms, hunting areas and campgrounds.

James H. Webb cabin is a rare insight into history. Built around 1852 by James H. Webb, a free Afro-American farmer, the log cabin was home to himself and his enslaved wife and two children, whom he purchased from a slaveholder.

The Lynch Preserve covers 206 acres of natural area along the Choptank River. You can explore the area on three trails that wind through the forests. There's parking at the start of the trails.

Martinak State Park sprawls along the edges of the Choptank River and Watts Creek. It hosts a huge array of wildlife and plants in its pine forests, fields and marshes. The park was given to the state by George Martinak in 1961. Today, you can enjoy its network of hiking trails, campsites, shelters and playgrounds. There's a nature center too.

Tuckahoe Creek is a tributary of the Choptank River. It's one of the most diverse and beautiful creeks in Maryland and great for kayaking. The creek is shallow and dotted with fallen trees and rocks, making it unnavigable aside from by kayak or canoe.

Going down is intimidating for an MTB beginner. The outside line, closest to the edge, is scary because of the drop but is the easiest and smoothest way down.
