Garrett Mountain Scenic Overlook is a great spot to visit, offering recently upgraded features and a fantastic view. The field has been transformed into an awesome playground, great for kids. The overlook provides a scenic view, with binoculars for the public to use.

Ramapo Lake offers spectacular views over the water and surrounding rock formations. It's also a popular place for anglers and paddlers to get out on the water, although swimming is prohibited.

This is a beautiful 120-acre lake. A great spot to take a break.

Barbour Pond is the largest body of water in Garret Mountain Reservation. There is a trail that runs along the banks of the pond, so you can get a good view of the water during your run.

You have a great view here out over Monksville Reservoir and the surrounding hills when you are crossing the dam on Stonetown Road. There is not much chance of being able to stop on the ride over, so just enjoy the ride or go to the car park on the northern end.

Barbour Pond is the biggest reservoir within the Garret Mountain Reservation. The park features hiking trails that travel on both sides of Barbour Pond and are often utilized by those looking to fish the waters. There are a couple cool overlooks of the pond just off the side of the trail.

Surprise Lake is a decently sized reservoir in Abraham Hewitt State Forest, but it's not nearly as big as its neighbor Greenwood Lake. Because it's a bit smaller, the lake sees fewer visitors than the larger reservoir and offers more privacy. This lake really sneaks up on you as you pop out of the trees.

Laurelwood Arboretum is a public park in Wayne Township, New Jersey. The area has a size of 30 acres and hosts ponds, streams, walking trails and hundreds of different plants and flowers. As the plants are labeled, it's a great opportunity to extend your knowledge about the local flora and fauna. The walk through the area is completely flat and very easy.
