Ramapo Lake offers spectacular views over the water and surrounding rock formations. It's also a popular place for anglers and paddlers to get out on the water, although swimming is prohibited.

Surprise Lake is a decently sized reservoir in Abraham Hewitt State Forest, but it's not nearly as big as its neighbor Greenwood Lake. Because it's a bit smaller, the lake sees fewer visitors than the larger reservoir and offers more privacy. This lake really sneaks up on you as you pop out of the trees.

Very peaceful pond located in a wooded area. It is a great place to stop for a break to enjoy the tranquility of nature.

Great point to get a view of the valley from the top of a large rock. It is a great place to sit, take a break and enjoy a wonderful view.

Chikahoki Falls can be reached very easily from Otter Hole, as the trail leads downwards only. But be aware: on the way back, it's logically going up. The waterfalls are absolutely beautiful and on a hot summer day you can even go for a swim.

Located in the very south of Norvin Green State Forest, Torne Mountain offers great views. From its rocky top you can see the different peaks of the State Forest and if you're lucky (and the sun shines) you can even spot the New York Skyline in the distance.

Osio Rock is one of the southernmost hills in Norvin Green State Forest, and the hike is often combined with Torne Mountain. From this viewpoint, you get a great overview over the New Jersey Highlands.
