알고도네스 사구는 믿을 수 없을 정도로 아름답습니다. 일부는 버기카를 타는 레크리에이션 장소로 사용됩니다. 하지만 Komoot가 표시하는 도로는 존재하지 않기 때문에 자전거로는 더 이상 벗어날 수 없습니다.

St Thomas Indian Catholic Church was built in 1922 near the site of the original Purissima Conception mission church, built in 1780 by Spanish missionaries but destroyed one year later in 1781 by frustrated Quetchan Indians after the missionaries usurped their best land and destroyed their crops

The Yuma Crossing Bike Path, also known as the Colorado River Levee Multi-Use Path runs along the Colorado River just north of downtown Yuma and passes through several parks and historic sites. Key points of interest include West Wetlands Park, a 110-acre area with fishing ponds, hiking trails, picnic spots, and the highly inclusive Stewart Vincent Wolfe Creative Playground. The path also passes by the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, which provides a fascinating look into the Old West with exhibits on the lives of prisoners and guards from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. From Sunrise Park a bridge connects the trail system to the East Wetlands, on the north bank of the Colorado River, for an extended loop on dirt and gravel trails.

At the site of the former Mission La Purisima Concepcion, St Thomas Indian Church is in a whitewashed building from the early 20th century. The original Franciscan mission from 1780 was destroyed the following year by the irate oppressed Quechan (Yuma) Indian groups

The former water tanks are completely filled with sand, so it can be assumed that they were buried by a mudslide in the past.

Get a tetanus booster. Not really much to see here. I can’t get behind much of what I’ve read about this place but I wanted to see for myself.
