Moon Lake is a 48-acre, spring fed lake in the middle of a state forest. This brings all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts to its shores throughout the year. The lake itself is popular for fishing and kayaking, while the surrounding park brings in hikers, mountain bikers, and campers.

Moon Lake State Forest Natural Area is a beautiful outdoor playground for nature lovers. The multi-use trails are a hotspot for mountain biking, with plenty of trails for hiking. There is a beautiful lake teeming with trout in the park's center, several campgrounds, and open fields with lots of wildflowers. It's a fantastic location, offering something for everyone.

This picturesque 25-acre lake includes a lovely trail for a scenic hike around its perimeter. Nestled on 246 private acres, parking is allowed on Coxton Road, with two trail gates for reservoir access. The state land gate allows public access entry to enjoy this incredibly scenic area.

Frances Slocum State Park is centered around a lake of the same name. The park is located in Luzerne County and offers visitors the chance to go fishing, kayaking, hiking, and mountain biking. There's also a large day use & picnic area.

The road crosses over the Frances Walter Dam and there's a nice pullover on one side to jump off your bike and get a view over the river and reservoir. If you're in the area for a few days and want a paddle you can access the reservoir for kayaking/canoeing.

Nescopeck State Park is centered around Nescopeck Creek, which runs between Mount Yeager and Nescopeck Mountain. You'll find forests and wetlands across the parks 3,550 acres and aside from the network of hiking trails the park is also known for great fishing, and XC skiing in the winter months.

Harveys Lake is the largest natural lake by volume in the state of Pennsylvania, and the second largest by surface area at 658 acres. It's a popular destination for swimming, boating, water skiing and fishing, and you'll find numerous restaurants, boat launches, and beaches along its shoreline.
