Nice bike road with little traffic and nice surroundings

This little road triangle here (Garder-Kroer-Helgestadveien) is rather nice for hill intervals. My favorite is going clock-wise, starting on the lowest point of Kroerveien and race to the highest point of Garderveien (close to the Furumoveien intersection).

Great, beautiful, hilly and curvy paved road with very little traffic, perfect for a road cycling or bike touring adventure. Some hills, not too hard, but expect to build up a sweat.

With the new luxurious bike road, this part changed from dreadful to very enjoyable climb.

Garder kirke is a long church from 1881 in Vestby Municipality. The building is made of wood and has 175 seats. The altarpiece was painted by Christen Brun based on Adolph Tidemand's altarpiece Christ in Heaven (Tyristrand kirke). There was already a church here in the Middle Ages, but its appearance is unknown. The oldest wooden church was probably built in the early 17th century. Beautiful road in the countryside

Panoramic view of Oslo fiord

Flat and often very windy. Most of the time the wind comes from the south. Then it's great fun to go very fast south to north. Or a simulated uphill battle in the other direction.

This road used to be gravel but since 2022, it is tarmac and great for cycling.

Low traffic road with a great view with fields and a bit of forest
