The Borgvliet Dunes are the breeding grounds of the Nightjar. That's why those beams are there; stay behind them to avoid disturbing the nests! You can also sometimes see deer passing by in the distance.

The bridge over the Scheldt-Rhine Canal is the Noordland Bridge. Its name is derived from the Noordlandpolder that once stood here. The Noordland Bridge is a double truss bridge of the Warren type. One bridge carries two sections of two lanes for road traffic (N101, Scheldelaan), while the other bridge carries a railway line (track 11). A cycle path has been constructed between the two truss sections. The bridge is 260 meters long. The vertical clearance is 9.1 meters, and the vertical clearance is 120 meters. Source: Wikipedia

Highly recommended! The menu is limited to some fries and cheese/ham sandwiches, but plenty of drinks ;-). Super friendly service and a nice collection of local relics in the barn.
